As a woman owned and curated business one of our main values is to help empower other women and help give them a voice. We pride ourselves in lifting each other up, supporting each other and helping push each other to achieve our dreams. But let’s be honest, this isn’t always the easiest task. There are so many expectations put on women these days that more and more struggle with mental health related issues and the struggles we face are usually done behind closed doors.
Run For Women
This month we are exploring women’s mental health and sharing different stories from different women on their struggles and journeys. We as a collective are participating in the Run for Women by the LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart program between July 4 and 11.
The Run for Women is a VIRTUAL 5 or 10 km run/walk that brings much needed attention and fundraising to helping support women and women’s mental health across the country. Our goal is to not only help raise money for the Women’s Mental Health Clinic at Foothills Medical Center but to bring awareness to the mental health struggles women face by sharing their stories. Our hope is that these stories empower you to make needed changes in your life, have those uncomfortable conversations with others or yourself, and move forward living a life you love.
With every sale of our “Tasha” red scrunchie or headband this month, $2.00 will go towards the Onyx+Ivy Run for Women team.
This year we are raising funds for the Women’s Mental Health Clinic at the Foothills Medical Centre. This Centre sees an estimated 600 women annually but it is estimated that 3600 women in Calgary alone struggle with mental health related issues each year.
